Background: Square Root Trading Seven (Pty) Ltd t/a Country Meat brought a liquidation application against South Cape Meat (Pty) Ltd (SCM) on 06 November 2015 in The High Court of South Africa, Eastern Circuit Local Division, George under case number H221/2015. The Provisional Order of Liquidation was granted against SCM on 12 November 2016 which order was made final on 19 February 2016.
The Master of the High Court, Cape Town appointed Anton Noordman and Rene Willoughby as Provisional Liquidators of SCM.
The First Meeting of Creditors was held before the Magistrate, George on 17 July 2016 at 09h00, 5 claims were proven at the said meeting. Jochen Eckhoff, Danie Acker and Rene Willoughby were appointed final liquidators at the First Meeting of Creditors.
The statutory second meeting of creditors and contributories, in terms of section 402 of the Companies Act no 61 of 1973, as amended read together with the Companies Act 71 of 2008 as amended, will be held before the Magistrate, George, on 07 October 2016 at 09h00. 26 Sep 2016
Please be advised that the government Gazette failed to advertise the notice for the second meeting of creditors. In light of the aforesaid, The liquidators will have to reschedule the second meeting of creditors. The new date will be confirmed in due course. 4 Oct 2016

The statutory second meeting of creditors, members and contributories, in terms of section 402 of the Companies Act no 61 of 1973, as amended, read together with the Companies Act 71 of 2008, was postponed to 11 August 2017 in order to hold a further enquiry.
The statutory second meeting of creditors, members and contributories, in terms of section 402 of the Companies Act no 61 of 1973, as amended, read together with the Companies Act 71 of 2008, was closed on 11 August 2017. The liquidators will use the information they obtained during the enquiry to pursue certain claims in favour of the insolvent company. The liquidators have applied for an extension of time to lodge the first liquidation and distribution account which extension was granted by the Master of the High Court. In light of the aforesaid, the liquidators will submit the first liquidation and distribution account by February 2018.
Please be advised that a special meeting of creditors has been convened to take place on 15 September 2017 at George Magistrate’s court at 09:00. The purpose of the meeting is to prove additional claims against the estate. Concurrent creditors should consider their position carefully before proving a claim due to a danger of contribution.
